Listed on Hostelworld as “Standard 4 Bed Mixed Dorm Ensuite”
Daniel says it plainly on his listing: the bunk beds he rents out are the same bunk beds he and his brothers used to sleep in when they visited their grandfather’s house as kids. When he came back to Minca, he restored them along with the house. So yes, you are sleeping in a piece of family history. Please do not jump on it.
It is a mixed dorm for four, and guests describe it as a good size. The dorm has its own bathroom. It also has an honest quirk worth knowing before you book: it closes with a curtain rather than a door, and the partition walls stop short of the roof, so kitchen chatter and the smell of someone’s fried plantain can drift in. Earplugs are a fine idea for light sleepers.
It suits solo travellers and friends who want a home rather than a party hostel: a shared kitchen, hammocks a few steps away, a river a couple of minutes away and a host who will happily explain how Minca works.
